Karen Rubinstein has more than two years of sobriety and had many years lost as an active alcoholic. Growing up in New Jersey, within view of Manhattan, she dreamt of a life beyond suburbia with no idea what that was or how to attain it. Drinking helped her find her escape but eventually she hit “rock bottom” – frightened she was losing her mind, her health and even her soul.
